Proudly Serving Central Phoenix and The Valley

About Camelback Eye Care

Our office on West Camelback Road is part of the Central Phoenix community. Patients come to us for trusted eye care, and the familiar faces they know.

A neighborhood practice built on long-term relationships.

More Than 60 Years in Central Phoenix

Camelback Eye Care  started as a local practice serving nearby families. Many of our eye care patients in Phoenix are second- and third-generation family members, and we’re proud to care for their families year after year.

We offer comprehensive eye exams in Uptown or Central Phoenix, along with medical eye care and optical services, so patients can stay with a team that knows them well.

A Local Practice Serving Phoenix Families

Lifelong Eye Care for Every Generation

Our optometrists offer eye health screenings and complete eye exams for babies, kids, working adults, and seniors.

During pediatric visits, we go at your child's pace. We explain each step and use fun techniques. Your child doesn’t need to know letters or sit perfectly for us to check their vision.

We provide vision care for more complex concerns. If you’re dealing with dry eye, we will build a treatment plan based on your symptoms and your day-to-day life. We also monitor and manage conditions like diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration with steady, personalized care.

For kids whose prescriptions change quickly, we offer myopia management to help slow it and protect their vision long-term.

Education That Strengthens the Care We Provide

Teaching Tomorrow’s Optometrists

Camelback Eye Care serves as a teaching site for Midwestern University, Arizona College of Optometry.

Optometry students learn in our clinic under the guidance of our experienced doctors.

This teaching role helps our team stay up to date on research and best practices. This supports the quality of care we give to every patient.

Dr. Heffelfinger and our team members speak Spanish. This helps patients talk about their symptoms, ask questions, and understand treatment plans in their preferred language. This includes parents and grandparents who feel more at ease speaking Spanish.
